How old do you have to be to get a Green Card?

There is no age limit to get a Green Card; you can get it at any age. However, there are eligibility requirements set to qualify and obtain a Green Card. U.S. immigration laws provide a variety of ways for people to apply for a Green Card. The eligibility requirements vary depending on the immigrant category under which you are applying. If a parent of an 11-year-old child obtains a Green Card, then that child would get a get a Green Card through sponsorship of a family member, for example.

You can also get a Green Card through employment. However, you do not need a Green Card in order to work in the U.S., a work visa is sufficient.
